I did install intel-microcode last month in Debian testing which reduced the amount of lines but it was hanging for 20 seconds with 4.18 kernel so I did a fresh install the same day it went to 4.19 kernel, 4 lines still show up but no hang any more, they're just a flash by now. the next thing I see is the Windows icon. did you load and save default BIOS settings once the recent version has been updated?
